The Program Exchange BBS
Menu Display Files
By: Grant Armstrong
Here are some Menu and Display files I use here on The Program Exchange BBS.
This is how I use these files:
FILE3.BBS <----- These are used for TRIAL security
MAIN3.BBS <----- level. My NEWUSER questionnaire is
MSG3.BBS <----- is set up to upgrade users to TRIAL
security level by answering the proper
question.
FILE4.BBS <----- These are used for users that have
MAIN4.BBS <----- expired from TRIAL security level.
MSG4.BBS <-----
FILE5.BBS <----- These are used for users that belong
MAIN5.BBS <----- to a Computer Users Group that has it's
MSG5.BBS <----- own File/Message areas on the board.
FILER.BBS <----- These are used for users that are paying
MAINR.BBS <----- members on this BBS.
MSGR.BBS <-----
FILEE.BBS <----- These are the SYSOP Menus used here.
MAINE.BBS <-----
MSGE.BBS <-----
SYSOPE.BBS <-----
The following are some files in MODULAR form. You can use these in any
combination to build your own menus, or add to your own design.
FILE.TOP <----- Top section of File Menu.
MAIN.TOP <----- Top section of Main Menu.
MSG.TOP <----- Top section of Message Menu.
FILE.MID <----- Mid section of File Menu.
MAIN.MID <----- Mid section of Main Menu.
MSG.MID <----- Mid section of Message Menu.
FILE.BOT <----- Botton section of File Menu.
MAIN.BOT <----- Bottom section of Main Menu.
MSG.BOT <----- Bottom section of Message Menu.
You can build these together by the following command:
COPY FILE.TOP + FILE.MID + FILE.BOT FILEx.BBS
Where "x" is replaced with the the single number or letter of
your choice.
Example: COPY FILE.TOP + FILE.MID + FILE.BOT FILE2.BBS
Make sure that the menus that you create do not extend more than 22 or 23
lines high. Wildraw will default to 24 lines, so you should edit them with
any ASCII text editor. Just delete any lines below where you want the prompt
to be. Also, try not to put any characters on column 79, as there may be some
strange results.
I highly recommend QEdit, which is available here on The Program
Exchange BBS or on Mustang's MSI BBS.
I hope these menus will give you some ideas to incorporate in your own.
ps: Take a look at the Door & Bulletin Menus.
